The 2900pros are still really new cards, give ati some sometime to develop their drivers.

I would love to however I have 14 days left to rma the merchandise and get a refund. I cant take the chance that AMD is going to come out with a patch that MAY or MAY NOT fix the problems I am having. It could be hardware in which case a patch will do me diddly.

All newer titles support dual graphics setups to a degree, but some games have problems with either SLI or Crossfire (depends on the game).
I had my ATI Tool set on a 14 second delay at startup and never had a problem. Also it pays to use a driver cleaner before reinstalling drivers. I have no idea why, I just know it helped me a couple of times. I used one I downloaded here and it worked for me.

I never mentioned it, but when I've used ATI Tool I always ran it at startup immediately, but Vista x64 isn't supported yet.

ATItools does NOT work with 2x 2900 cards. I saw other posters complain about it.

It does work with 1 card installed at a time thoe. Im looking at it as we speak(only have one card installed at the momeny and it seems to be fine).

I also ran dxdiag, display, and ran those 2 tests in crossfire mode, in non cross fire mode and with 1 card installed (tested both cards).

THe directdraw test was fine for both cards but the direct3d test is messed up in every test (i mentioned above).

What I see is a square spinning at the speed of one of my fans! The only reason I know its a square is right before the test ends it stops spinning and I can see the square... Is that passing? It looks like a big blurr blob while the test is running! It does this in every test for both cards.

Binor could you please do a dxdiag direct3d test on your card and tell me what that looks like? Id like to have a comparison.

EDIT: I will test the other pci-e slot to see if perhaps the slot is bad? Im running out of ideas.
I doubt however that getting 2 more 2900 pros will solve any of my problem (thats even if I could because they are out of stock with no eta atm.)

You mentioned that crossfire sometimes isn't enabled despite being checked enabled.... ( i think) But anyways, had a similar issue with my X1900XT's. Cure was uninstall, run drivercleaner, run ccleaner to clean the registry and then re-install. Crossfire works flawlessly now (shame the mobo is f**ked). With 7.10's crossfire support in Bioshock is definitely improved, but can't give you numbers as I'm packing up my mobo for an RMA.

Good luck.......

Crossfire works sometimes with the 2900s.. The problem is that when it works it messes up ALOT!

Im going to try and use 7.9 drivers to see if it cures.

If anyone with 2900 series could tell me what their dxdiag direct3d test looks like I would appreciate it!

I will take your advice and clean like you mentioned. Thanks.

And where do you download "drivercleaner"? Is that the right spelling ? Cant seem to find one.

Did you mean Drive cleaner?

Try the Guru3D Drive Sweeper here. It worked for me on 2 different systems that had corrupt driver issues. They weren't crossfire, but I can attest that the program works.

Thanks man I did wind up using it..

The question still stands for anyone willing. Can anyone run direct3d test (in dxdiag) without having the cube spin at sonic speeds?
