Some guy is selling an X800GT 256MB locally, and I wanna pick it up. Thing is, I'm not sure if I wanna upgrade the video card on my machine one last time before I go for a complete overhaul or let this slide and keep gaming on my 9800XT. Also, what would be a good reasonable price on this? I've been talking to the guy via e-mail and he seems to know what he is talking about. Now, I did my research and the GT is not an R480 core. As saddening as it seems, I think it would be a decent investment until I can build another rig.

What do you guys think?

Don't pay much more than $50...the x800GT is pretty weak, and you can find 6800GTs, and x850XTs for around $65-70.

In all honesty it sounds to me like he's asking an awful lot for that computer. I don't think that rig would be worth the $450 he's asking for it at all. My Opteron rig would barely be worth $450 if I sold it. I'd put a wanted ad here at OCN for a GPU and state your price range. You can get a lot more for your money than that X800. And craigslist people seem to mark their prices up quite a bit.
