Unfortunately my HR-03 broke and I had to RMA it. I am waiting on UPS to get it to me. It should be here the 20th at which point I will shoot for a kick ass 2900pro.

Don't have a SLI motherboard anyways. Buy.com seems to be sold out.

Mwave's got one for $20 bucks more (but I would wait until Newegg has more): http://www.mwave.com/mwave/skusearch...=done&nextloc=

White Box = OEM I think (not a special version).

Otherwise, it seems that every other store is selling these for $259-269 besides Newegg.

If a lot of information is being posted on the 3870 may take a few weeks before something strong comes out. The last time I flashed a card was with an x800. I've done 3 ATI card based flashes and all worked charms with no problems. I just make sure I got the Samsung memory and I'm all set.

You'll have to wait about 2 weeks for 'everyone' to get their cards. Then another week or two to get a flash--especially if it's as easy as the x800 series and 9800 series was. There were tuts all over the web on how to do it.

And the 2900pro will be faster yet.
But then the 8800GT can easily do 100MHz beyond its reference core clock, and in proportion that's a much larger performance increase.

From what I've seen, the OC results on the GT have been spotty. Seems like the ones that come at reference clocks have more trouble doing even 700MHz where as the pre overclocked ones have an easier time of going up higher. Nonetheless, we will find out what the 2900pro is capable of in 3 days. And the 7.11 cats are out on the 21st which also bring a performance boost.

Most go up to at least 670MHz, which would still be better than a 85MHz OC on a 3870. Plus I don't think a 2900Pro would be any faster than either the 3870 or the 8800GT, after all clock for clock, a 3870 beats the 2900XT slightly. 7.11 won't let the 2900 climb above 3870 either.

All incorrect. I've explained the details as well as the reasons why it is slower in benchmarks right now many times, in different forums and I'm not retyping it. you can search my post history here and on XS if you want more info.

if you don't want to, just wait for the 20th to pass.
