Those BIOS's simply give more voltage to core and/or memory, don't they? I'll have to bookmark that post for when I get water-cooling.

do they have any that work with a 512mb card? also does the bios have to be vendor specific? and last question is how did they mod the bios?

Bios not vendor specific. AFAIK there are no volt modded bioses for the 512mb 2900pro, but there are volt modded bioses for the 512mb 2900xt, which will work on the pro but then you lose the tighter timings on the ram.

The bios can be modded in a hex editor but you must know EXACTLY what you are doing, otherwise you will kill your card for good with an improperly modded bios.

Yes all it does is add voltage to the core.
