What's the default voltage? Don't be to scared, if the flash goes wrong, you can boot off a floppy and use atitool to flash it back to the stock bios blind with no video. I've had to do that a few times, it does work. The first time I had to do it, it was very scary though. Make sure you are changing the 3D voltages and not the 2d.

And you know unless you have the new fixed bios and a way to flash the card, a volt mod won't be of much use

stock 1.241 v
stock 1.327 V
i am changing all the 1.327v
pritty many of them nut shure witch of them that aplayes

i raised it to 1.400v without any performance increese (tho i did run a 3dmark@862 but could be just a fluke)
raising it to 1.500 now

not to shure this works but i have checked it in rivatuner and the volts there are going up
doo u know about a program that actualy messures the voltige being aplayed?

No idea, but I would NOT use 1.5v (also that is very dangerous for a 55nm chip) unless you have some serious water cooling. The 2900 has a massive temp increase going from 1.15v to 1.25v. It might be a similar situation on the 3870, did you check your temps at all?

You should be fine then as far as temps go. Just be really careful with the voltage, 1.5v is a LOT for a 55nm die.

Are you using the new fixed bios? What is your current high stable overclock?

still 862mhz (shows 850.5mhz in rivatuner) 3dmark run
850 mhz (shows 837mhz in rivatuner) stable atitool artifact free

so volting is not helping
