RivaTuner 2.06 works great. Trust me, once you use it, you won't go back to ATI Tool. So much easier to use and works every time. The only thing I even use ATI Tool for anymore is artifact scanning and stability testing.

Default Here are some screenshots.

Here are a couple of screenshots of 3dmark06 and GPUZ of my Powercolor 3870. My system also has:
-Intel 6400 @ 3220 (7 x 460)
-Abit IP35 pro
-G.Skill HK DDR2-800 @ DDR2-1104 (5-5-5-12)
I'm pretty happy with the performance so far and I think that the card will go all the way to 900/1350; so far the temperatures are pretty low.
I'm using the XG 7.14 driver and Rivatuner.

Nice rig you have there. Also nice max OC.

Plus, you're from MI. Good stuff, I live in Grand Blanc and work at the FedEx that delivers your packages. HEHE.

Does anyone else have problems running 3dmark06 w/ these cards? I installed it, renamed the problematic file in the system32 folder and now it won't let me view the results....

anyone have any ideas?--Once I get that fixed, I'll post my results.

:: Attention to all having 3DMark06 issues with HD38XX ::

Download the hotfix. It's hosted right on the 3DMark website. Once I did that, all was well. If you were getting the splash screen hanging that hotfix will most definitely cure the problem.

Try that first and if it still doesn't work, uninstall, then re-install. Apply the hotfix, then run. All should be well at that point.

I'm posting these "hot topic" posts in bolded red if I notice a few people asking about them. I feel this will make it easier for some one browsing the thread to easily see some common issues and fixes for said issues. Mct, I actually would like to do a small write up for the first page if that's ok with you. Let me know. If you ok it, I'll PM you the write up and you can add it to the first post.

It will be basic stuff such as:

Useful utilities for OCing, flashing, and tweaking the HD38XX series of cards. (RivaTuner, ATI Tool, etc.)

Known issues with the HD38XX line and fixes. (3DMark06 fix, driver issues, etc.)

Advantages of HD38XX series of cards. (overclock ability, 256MB vs 512mb, HD3850 vs HD3870, etc.)

If you need any reference to my work, check out my Overclocking Odyssey in my sig, it shows the kind of thing I'll do. Albeit much more compact. Most likely 3 paragraphs with some support links and info. Anyways, just let me know. I'll even let you ok it and edit it if you feel the need. Just think it will be VERY helpful to new members or perspective HD38XX buyers.
