I don't think the 4870X2 is accurate unless they are going to keep the same amount of memory from the 4870 and divide it between the 2 cores which I would think could hinder it some. I also think the 1050 core is a little high considering most people only get to the 900s on their OC(extreme ppl left out ofcourse) 800-950 core is what I expect.

It is a new core however, so maybe 1050 is easily possible?

Theory

256 Bit = keep cost down

Cost = whats keeping ATI/AMD in a large sector of the market, price performance

GDDR5 = Advertising, 'Worlds first GDDR5 Graphics Card for only...'

Also...GO ON ATI! =D Win win win ^.^

Will 1000W be enough for 4870X2 crossfire w/250W per card?

If these specs are for real, they're going to leave the 3870x2 dead in the water..

I mean, by the time they sort the drivers on the 3870x2 for CrossfireX support, then work out the bugs in that... the 4870x2 will be upon us.

So basically, who's going to spend $450+ on a card that's going to be waiting on driver fixes for the next two months, then have a card come out a month after that that totally kicks its butt?

I was going to pick up another 3870x2 in March, but if this is a happening 3 months later... well...

extremely fine

500W for 2, lets call it 550-600 for overclocking

kay so 600

65/45nm CPU = around 70w max average

Thats 670

HDD, Fans, motherboard will come to around 800w in overall total of everything i reckon

2 2900XT's breaking the 3DMark World record disagree with this statement

When the 4870X2 comes out, the 3870X2 may do a 2900XT and bring back the power with further driver releases

As far as i know...PCI-e 2 is just lingo, a PCIE-2 card is no different from a regular card

At the present time theres no card that can push more data through a PCI-e port than it can take...but we shall see

I was wrong it seems...
