Default CFX questions..

hey everyone :P

after waiting two months to find out that the 9 series is nothing more than a souped up 8 series.. i've decided to consider crossfirex for my next build..

so anyway, what's the deal with CFX and 3870x2's? how many can it support? also, CFX supports mixing and matching GPU's right?

how does 2 3870x2 compare with say, a 3870x2 + 3870? i'd imagine scaling performance as it approaches 4 GPU would become inefficient so it might be a wiser choice to save money and get a 3870 as the second card..

how would 4 3870's compare to 2 3870x2? what about 3 3870 compared with a 3870x2 and a 3870?

btw, are there any specific mobo's i need for CFX?

thanks
