Well black is (-) and red (+) yellow would be RPM and blue would be PWM. So I think I'm gonna try PWM first (blue). What you guys think?

yes blue should be the pwm. the yellow is just used to send information on the speed at which the fan is turning and would have no bearing on fan speed if cut. You would just lose the ability to monitor how fast it's turning.
