I went ahead and redid everything including my RAID0 array. This time i wasn't a noob and knew how to configure it correctly. Machine seems allot more responsive this time around, and everything is fine with CCC8.5. 8.6 was most definitely the cause.

This worries me.
__________________I'm currently having performance issues with my 4850. I'm with 8.6 and the hotfix, but i hear (from CyberDruid) that either the hotfix or 8.6 (forget which) only works with SP1, but you're having problems with this whole "up to date" drivers thing. Does 8.5 support the 4850? Anybody else have any thoughts?

Hey man, I had similar prblem with "LogMeIn" software, it killed my nVidia gpu drivers and I wasnt able to see anything. I was able to restart in safe mode but windows uninstaller (aka Add/Remove Programs menu) doesn't work. THe only software that really helped me was "Advanced Uninstaller 2007Pro" It is an independent soft wich runs in safe mode like a charm. It also has "ForceUninstall" option which I ended up using. After that I went into registry tools (part of this soft) and cleaned the registry from leftovers and broken clsid's

Licht, so you did end up losing all the data on your RAID 0 array?

Makes me feel a little better about myself for accidentally deleting my ~150GB worth of backup the other day, lost a lot of really hard to find stuff.

I don't think there is anything wrong with Vista x64 SP1 and Catalyst 8.6, I am using this configuration myself with zero problems.
EDIT: I installed Catalyst 8.6 after SP1 was already installed.
