hey Robilar,

in games, do you feel that 1680x105, which im guessing is your native res, is bottlenecking Crossfire?

reason i ask is i want either Crossfire 4870's or a 4870X2, but i feel 1680x1050 is too small a res for that much power.

I guess it would depend on the game. COD4 is stupid fast at 1680x1050. I am going to try Crysis out over the weekend but nothing else I've tried (Rainbow six vegas 2, quake enemy territory) even comes close to stressing the cards.

I only bought two because its my intention to go with a 24" monitor very soon which runs at 1920x1200 native. That is the area where two of these cards should provide a significant difference.

yeah see thats what im gonna do, move up to 24" for 19x12. i have my heart set on the BenQ V2400.

i rekon that with Crossfire 4870's, 1680x1050 would be seriously holding them back from their full potential.

Probably you are right.

I love benq monitors btw...

They are in my opinion the most under rated maker out.

I have the Samsung 226bw (and enjoy it) because the distributor I buy from was selling them new for $215 (I bought one for my kid too) with a preferred dealer instant rebate.

There are a couple of benq 24" models that are really amazing.

yeah i recently became a fan.

samsung are of course imo the best, i had a 19" samsung, 240b i think. beautiful picture. the 226 that you have i imagine is even better. i'd really like the new samsung 24" but it costs heaps down under..bout $620 AUD +.

the BenQ is $499 AUD.
