Default O'Clock Question

i have my 3850 overclocked at 700/900 is that a good oc or should i do it higher? any help is most appreciated.

go as high as you can without artifacts. Use ATI tool to monitor temps and to test

I say go as high as you can before you artifact. Use RivaTuner to OC, then use ATI Tool to stress test the OC.

I forgot about Rivatuner... Great tool too. Change your fan speed too for more cooling if you need it from there too.

ok i got it to 760/1000 b4 i got artifacts now is that good for a sapphfire hd3850 512mb or should i go buy a new card?

that should be ok for that card considering the stock core and mem, and also otherfactors such as single vs dual slot card and case cooling. I have an HIS 3850 in my Antec 900 running 850/1125 (2250 effective) using Rivatuner to OC. My mobo also has overvolt capabilites on the PCIe slots so that helps. MY GPU fan is at 100%, too, but the noise doesn't bother me.
