Just bought 2x1gb of OCZ Reapers ram.
Also a 4850.
My fps in CSS is hovering around the 50 mark
My 8800gt was 80+

Soooo......

I uninstalled nvidia drivers, then installed ati, rebooted when asked to everytime
Using the hotfix drivers as well
Fan speed is also set at 50% so heat shouldn't be an issue
Any ideas?

hmm. Did you use something like driversweeper too? if not I would recomend Also I wouldn't base performance off 1 game try some others there might be a driver issue with CSS.

Did you check your catalyst settings? Make sure everything looks normal (like make sure it isn't forcing 16x AA or something absurd). Download GPU-Z (do a google search) and make sure your card isn't underclocking itself, or running at a 4x pci-e lane or something.

hmmm, if none of that works, backup ur saves in css and reinstall it. give us some info on other games performances too plz.

Or you guys could realize that he's using the "hotfix", meaning that it's ATI's way of saying "oh snap we need drivers so people can actually use our product, let's try to make one by lunch." and chill until a real driver comes out. ATI is notorious for making awkward drivers, and I can say that after more than 6 months of having a 3870.

Wow o.O my 4850 works great. I get smooth fps in all my games even Crysis (1920x1080)

Reset your video settings to default. Use the latest full release CCC.
