Default 8800gt vs 4870 at 1920x1200

hi i am thinking of buying a ati 4870 but i am unclear in how much increase i will get upgrading from a 8800gt 4870

could some one show me a benchmark of them on team fortress 2 and call of duty and a few other games (throw crysis out the window as i do not want that benchmark)

and would it be worth it?

main reason i am thinking about upgrading as i play team fortress 2 A Lot and some times i dip below 20 or 30 fps and that annoys me as it lags a bit in full servers (25+ people)

how many more fps should i get in team fortress 2 in busy areas?
could some one show me the min fps and max fps they get in Teamfortess 2

current system

x48 gigabyte mother board
E4500 overclocked to 3.3Ghz 2mb cache
2gb 6400 800MHZ ram
750W thermal take psu

1920x1200 samsung sync master 24" lcd screen

thanks alot for you help

I can tell you that a single HD4870 provides an average FPS of 150 on CALL of Duty 4 with all settings maxed at 1680x1050 if that helps.

I had a pair of 8800GT's. they are great cards but they are slower than the HD4850's. Not to mention the speed of the 4870...

It will be much better. At that resolution, a 4870 is about 20-25% better than a 4850. A 4850 is about 15-20% better than an 8800GT. So at 1920x1200, it will be a considerable upgrade.

TF2 gets a good 90+ with a 4870 I've seen somewhere.

It sucks you can't do SLI, otherwise I'd recommend getting another 8800GT...it's a pretty cheap card and SLI them and its higher performance than a 4870
