OP, may want to add in to TURN OFF OVERDRIVE BEFORE FLASHING. You need the stock bios on the card to disable overdrive, and if it's on, it will reset your clocks if they're higher than the Overdrive limit.

Also, for those that don't want to download a bios for fear of incompatibility, you can dump whatever bios you currently have and edit that one using GPU-Z by clicking the icon next to BIOS Version.
I myself think that XML tweaking done a brilliant job and VERY SAFE. I have the fan speed at 40% and its auto load my profile on start up unlike other have to select their profile at startup i dont know why...
My temp is 40Idle 54Load on stock setting, and at 790/1100 (not stable tho) is 44Idle and 59Load so i think that is pretty good, and at 40% it is quiet as well

However stability and higher clock is a problem atm i know, i am as eager as you are to push the card up its limits, but the driver is not fully mature yet we are still using the 3000 series driver.

So i would wait for a better driver and rivatuner to recognize the 4000 series...

+rep for that. Brilliant stuff I was looking for this.

And for those voltage settings, does that actually work? I was reading on XtremeSystems that the voltage is hardware bound not bios bound, so you would need to hard-mod it to get it to go higher.
Can anyone confirm that this TPU bios actually raises voltages?

I have had it all the way up to 1.4v across the board, adjusted the PCIe Frequency between 103-108Mz with not much changes. I have managed to break 18K with the single 4870. Sometimes it wants to run 870MHz and sometimes it doesn't want to run 855MHz. Mem clocks don't seem to like anything over 1150Mz.

Although my card does idle at 39C and loads at 49C, that seems to be the only constant thus far.

Awesome. So you got the core up to 870 @ 1.4v? And 4.6Ghz memory.. that's sick. 1.4V safe for long term use in high power 3D mode?

Well I don't believe that changing the voltage in the BIOS of the card is really changing anything. Think it's time for some schematics and a lead pencil....

I don't think I can run 3dmark anymore today lol. I'm burnt and a lil pissed off so I'm going to cut the grass.

rpm - man, those are some high clocks. I don't seem to have problems until I get much above 1100. Same with the core, I can do 833, but anything higher, I start getting SLIGHT artifacting, and I mean a dot here, a dot there. Could be related to lack of voltage in my case. Why would I need to overclock with two of these bastards running 140GB/s bandwidth each? LOL

Are you using ATI tool to test for artifacts? I can run through Vantage with no problems at 850 core but ATI tool is abundent with them over 810.
