here is the first none reference 4870

overclocked and new cooler

power color got there first well done it takes ages for atior the brands to get out none reference cards out

there will be a 512mb and a 1Gb version overclocked to 8800mhz

the cooler is nothing really fancy just normal really for a none reference card but it is the first 4870 like it and with 1Gb should be nice for high resolution 1920x1200 and up i guess

Here's my personal review on 4870 Crossfire setup with Zalman GV1000 Cooler.

Test setup -
E8500@4.2GHz
X48 Rampage Formula
Raptor X 150G RAID 0
HX1000W
4870 Crossfire

Picture of the system

Sleek design, great performance. GV1000 also comes with 8 memory heatsinks.
The only con I think is as you can see from the picture, second crossfire bridge is hard to put which seems like it's not designed for the crossfire setup.

3DMARK06 - CCC 8.7 4.2GHz *790/1100

Temperature

idle - 49, 47 / load - 66, 63.5 *3600rpm 100% but it's pretty quite, considering it's 3600rpm!!

Real gaming performance.
Everything is recorded by Fraps.

Crysis
x64, All very high, 1920x1200, no AA *15 minutes in first battle scene
Avg: 35.916 - Min: 17 - Max: 64

Hellgate
x64, Best Quality, 1920x1200, AA 4X *15 minutes in the battle scene
Avg: 66.693 - Min: 23 - Max: 120

GRID
1920x1200, Multisampling:4XMSAA, Best Quality except AA 8AA too laggy. *just one racing with 10 cars
Avg: 95.731 - Min: 67 - Max: 145

Will be updated after installing CCC 8.7 which is released today!! July.21th!

Good luck finding those. The VF1000 are easy to find but I can't find the red GV1000 anywhere in stock in Canada.
