Default ATI tools

umm i downloaded and installed that ATiTools thing because apparently you are able to adjust fan speed with it?

i do have catalyst installed do i need to uninstall catalyst or something because i dont see any kind of fan speed options on atitools

i want to adjust the fan speed on my 4870 i dont care about noise because i wear frikken headphones

I don't think AtiTool works with vista x64. See here for how to change fan speeds for the moment -

that doesnt work because i make the profile and save it and say to save all ccc settings but then when i go to my id there is no ATI.ACE to be found but i search for it or go into 'program files' i find it but then there is nothing pertinent to my saved profile.

is it because i have x64?

It should (and has) work on x64. But ATITool definately doesn't work on Vista x64 yet (There is a beta but thats only for XP x64 )

Really, I can't help you much more . I've never actually done it myself, as I don't own an AIT 4 series card.

ok ok i got it. i didnt want to crank the fan speed too high though 50% it was pretty hexxa loud i put it at like 35
