So, lately i have big problems with my HD3850 card(agp)
__________________It works fine in some games(rainbow six vegas) but computer freezes very often in some(c&c generals and many more). It just freezes with no effect, or freezes with black screen.(also bluescreen visits too often) Now i tried to find solutions on the net, installed OMEGA drivers to fix fastwrite etc. Nothing seems to work. Its not a virus since i recently formated my pc. This problem is wrecking my nerves(freezes occur on the worst times ever), i would really appreciate all the help!

Did these problems occur before you had the 3850?
1. What card did you have before? 2. When did you start using the 3850? 3. What brand is the card? 4. Have you ever tried to overclock it? If possible, please take a look inside your case and make a note of any brand or model printed on your PSU, most have a label indicating the wattage. Also, if there are details of the amps on the 12v rail listed, please post those too.

It seems that the problem might actually be in fastwrite not working properly...I disabled it and c&c generals did not crash(i didn't play for long enough to be 100% sure, but usually it crashes really fast)
__________________I can't really play anything with fastwrite off since generals had 20 fps >< Not 100% sure about this, but it might be causing the crashes. ------ Also i have tons of problems starting my pc...it sometimes stops on the "enter bios" screen, sometimes it freezes on loading windows xp screen, sometimes it crashes just after windows loads desktop...(it never crashes on desktop after windows has started)

now im 99% sure it's fastwrite, the maker of Omegadrivers said in a forum that its not driver related and disabling it fixes the crashes+disabling it doesn't change performance...

My initial line of questioning was because without knowing your PSU spec/rating, the problem could've been a lack of 12v amps/stability, or a failing PSU. Having read a bunch of threads here and elsewhere, particularly this thread, it looks like fastwrite is probably the culprit although I don't have any further solutions for you yet.
I don't have fastwrite enabled and my card's performance is great, so I suggest you keep it off, perhaps try a fresh driver install. https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206..._enu_65993.exe
