I always ran default CCC settings.

Ok. I'll do the same then (always have.)
I just locked up at 842/945, so it looks like I'll be stable at 842/940. Quite a bit lower than my Vantage OC, but it's all good. I've been getting some intermittent artifacts in COD4 and WaW, so I've been getting frustrated. I haven't found a great stress test until now.......FF Forest finds it within 2 minutes.
Anyhow, I'm running it at 842/940 475*8 DDR2-950 5-5-5-15 PL8 right now.


So what Catalyst AI setting do you use grunion? I've always set mine to advanced, as this used to force AFR mode in the past.....however I'm not sure how this has changed since these PLX chip dual GPU cards have come around.....

Does OCing the PCI-E bus help achieve any higher clocks with this card? It has with other cards in the past......however I would have to be careful because my Perc RAID controller is in PCI-E 2.

I should go ahead and try to run a 4 GHz run. I may do that tomorrow...it's time to play COD4.

Here is the compare link on my 4 GHz run. A little better, but it leaves something to be desired....

I had the same problems at the same spot. Or sometimes it would clear the FireFly demo but freeze before loading the next one. This was not a temp issue because I'm running water cooling and right after restart My temps were in the low 30's I did an ASUS top bios flash and I cleaned my ATI drivers and did a fresh install of 8.12 and It works fine now (at 812 and 950). Haven't really started pushing it yet. Still trying to figure out how to add juice with RivaTuner.

Wow with my AMD 940 at 3.7 I only got 19980 in 3dMarks06. This is just with the 4870x2 I haven't played with gettnig the 4870 to xfire yet.

Just put my rig togethere with the Asus 4870x2.

where should I start with this card? I have driver version 8.520.0.0

How do I know what version of CCC I have? The version number I get is 17 digits long and when I see others posting its 8.12 or what not.

Sorry for such broad questions this is my first build and Im a bit overwhelmed..

I ran mirrors edge at stock settings with physix off and got horrible results.
I was doing way better with my 8800GT on my other rig?

8.12 is excellent for my system. Idle temperatures are much better than the 8.8's I was running before I did a fresh reinstall of Vista. I used to idle at 83/84 now I idle at 63/64.
