Count me in for another! I couldn't pass up the ZZF deal. That suddenly vanished. $449 with a $70 mir! $379 out the door. I'd post the link, but it's sold out and selling for $530 now. =/

Hmmmmm, would I truly really truly have to reinstall the drivers? I'd like to have crossfireX with Windows 7, but for some reason I can't uninstall/install any ATI drivers now. Weird bug I sent feeback on this weekend.

The big question is?

Can you run a pair of HD4870X2's in Crossfire with WinXP 64 bit?

I found a description of the 8.9 XP64 drivers that indicated full support for quadfire.

Any thoughts?

The reason you can't have quad-fire in XP is because of the NT5.0 kernel. You'd have to rewrite it at the base level to allow more than two GPUs running in sync. That happens to be one of the things Microsoft changed when making Vista

Ok, so why do the 8.9 drivers for 64bit XP indicate support for quad crossfire?

Well is it only the 8.9's for XP64? It might be just an error

The drivers DO support it, but the OS doesn't. xD

The way the driver notes are laid out, new features are only mentioned in the driver release that is initiated (unless there is some change to the feature). By that logic, 8.9 and onward would support the feature in this instance.

Then what about the 8.9 XP32bit?
