Here is a 3dmark06 run (first one with 2 cards)

Cpu at 3.6, all other settings the same.

A very tiny increase in score. I expected it to be identical so thats fine.

you will see the difference on the 24", when you knock up the res to 1920*1200. Still very nice though.

thats what I was thinking given the larger amount of ram.

I'm pleased they didn't go the route nvidia did with the GX2 (downclocking 2 8800gts cores)

Agreed. I will definitely be getting this card. Now to find a waterblock. If I am not mistaken, I believe the 3870x2 blocks will fit it.

Thats what I read as well.

Just got an old game I play with a couple of buddies working. It would not run with my prior crossfire setup no matter what I did (except disabling crossfire).

works flawlessly on this card

also fired up call of duty 4. seems to be about the same fps but again I'm only at 1680x1050

Here is another big improvement over a pair of 4870's.

At this level I can barely hear the gpu fan over my case fans (if at all).

This is with case ambient temps of 23C

Unlike the 4870's, it ramps up and down as needed.
