you make me wanna cry.... 2x 4870s & a 4870x2 congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!  (+1 if i could) that's it im going team red  i don't care if im only pushing 1680x1050 ... & i dont think im gonna care about the price either 20k 3dmark06  R700 here i come

My friend got 2 samples... and trust me 1 is enough. Crossfire 4870x2 give a lower performance than a single 4870 and single 4870x2.
It is your choice anyway. Nice Card!! drooling

Tried them together, something odd, no pic on post. system boots but no image to monitor.
will try switching the placement of the cards to see if it makes a difference only one crossfire connector on the 4870x2 btw

I don't know what the issue is. The cards run fine independantly but as soon as I put them together in the system, no video on my monitor.
__________________I put the two 4870's back in and reconnected the Crossfire bridges and they run fine. A lot of fussing around with cards I'm getting rid of. Next up, a 4 ghz run with the X2 3dmark06 I'm still in awe of a cooling fan that ramps up correctly. between 43C and 53C idle on the two cores... Find me a high end nvidia card that idles at 45C without manually ramping the fans up.

Try connecting the monitor to the bottom card bottom DVI.
