With your monitor there's no point in getting a second. The HD5k series won't be that much better than the HD4k. What you should really wait for is the DX11 wave

Hey guys I put a Asus 4870 Dark Knight in with my 4870x2 and windows doesnt even see the Dark Knight. Everything is plugged in. Any ideas? Do I need to run the cd it came with?

Turn off the computer, restart, uninstall drivers, restart, run DCP and delete all ATI junk, restart, install drivers, restart, put in the HD4870 without the CFX bridge, restart, check CCC if the card is seen there, if it is, then restart, and while the computer is off, plug in the CFX bridge, go into CCC and enable CFX. Tada!

Grunion and I were both able to get a 4870 and an X2 working together in crossfire. It was a bit finicky though (in my case required that I reset my bios with both cards installed and reinstall the catalust suite twice).
