Default What should I do? (Upgrade question)

I am currently a little bit torn about what to do with my video card situation.
I can't afford a 4870 X2 right now but I can afford a 4870. I could grab a 4870 now and then another for Crossfire later or I could wait a while (2 or 3 months) and grab a 4870 X2. I doubt I'd ever go for CrossfireX if I did that.

I mainly play Age of Conan and Call of Duty 4 right now with occasional Call of Juarez and Crysis. My monitor is 1920x1200 and I like to turn on as much eye candy as I can.

I would, of course, need to buy waterblocks for whichever card I choose. I was thinking about the 4870 with a Fuzion GFX2 or an EK-VGA Supreme, which would at least allow me to keep the GPU block for more than one card. If I go with the X2, I'd probably have to go with full coverage (I'm partial to EK blocks)

So my choices are:

1) Stick with my 3870 X2 and wait for the 5000 series or whatever nVidia brings out (whichever is better)
2) Get a 4870 now and another one in 2-3 months for Crossfire
3) Wait 2 or 3 months and get the 4870 X2

What do you guys think?

meh i don't see why you can't play those games right now with 3870x2. Even though its weak on the AA, I'd wait it out for something totally new.

4870X2 in 2-3 months should be $450 - hell, they're already $469.99 at Best Buy - and they usually ARENT the best buy.

Simple solution:

Go tri-Crossfire.

Get a Radeon HD 4870 now and then save up for a 4870X2.

I say pool your money and wait 2-3 months. If the 4870x2 is still on top, grab it. If something new came along and beat its face in (lol yeah right) then grab that.

Resist the urge to splurge [money].
