Anyone know what exact benefits the unlocking of this feature through drivers in the future will yield? Apparently this feature will unlock a 5GB/sec bandwidth between the two RV770 GPU's.
I'm guessing it's just going to make the card run faster overall? Reckon it's anything to hold your breath over?

Thats a damn fast card man. I'm guessing you read this. http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid...hd4870-x2.html
Its suppose to eliminate bottlenecking right? Maybe it will match actual CF 4870 with it unlocked or better. I dunno.

Match? Benchmark reviews I've seen on guru3d.com have displayed that the 4870X2 outperforms a 4870 in CF in lower resolutions and absolutely decimates it at the stupidly high resolutions (thanks to its 2x1GB per Core GDDR5 as opposed to 512MB on the 4870)

Yeah I agree, this is a VERY future safe card. But, they really have to work on the stock coolers though. They get too hot for comfort. But whatever, if he goes boom on me due to heat, I'll just RMA it.
