The game is sooo much more enjoyable the second time around on my comp now then it was on an 8800GTX SLI setup the first time. It is fully playable and looks fantastic. If you want proof that there are things that are just not as good in DX9 as DX10, take a comparison look at heavy shadow areas as well as the water reflections on very high. there is a noticable difference and it definitly effects the total atmosphere of the game, its not a dealbreaker if you really want to run very high in dx9, but it is definity not the real thing once you have your eyes trained a bit for it lol.. Now im soo screwed with my new comp, the only way to go with graphics detail in games from here on out is up lol.

I'm using DX9 due to an issue with DX10 and my card. I have tried difference drivers and reinstalled crysis multiple times and it hasn't worked.

did you run the benchmark or the game? the benchmark IMO is a little wacky on my side.. I get very low fps during the benchmark but can get 60-70 fps playing the game and when benching I get bout 40 lol

ive always felt crysis was not optimized right.... maybe its just me... I think those effects would not need as much raw power as they do if they were done right... Again thats personal opinion and I dont want to flame or anything... But kudos to the 4870 X2 for the sheer amount of power the card can generate...

Just run it DX9 with the Very High settings hack, it looks almost as good as true DX10 Very High from the screens that I've seen.

Does the full game with all the patches have a lot better performance than the first release demo of the game? (I would imagine so, just want to see how much)

Same as marin, DX10 and crysis just don't play nice with ati in my experiences. Running the same ultra high mod marin linked and same 1920x1200. DX9 Really does run great though.
