As promised, I will be reviewing my HIS 4850 IceQ 4 Turbo card. This is a WIP and will be completed in the following days.
__________________Card Specs All the specs are the same as the "stock" 4850, except for clocks and price. The core clock on the IceQ 4 is 650 MHz (compared to 625 MHz on normal), and the memory clock is 1000 MHz (compared to 993 MHz on normal). The price is $248 in Australia (stock 4850 is $219 here). Box And Contents The front tells us that the card we have is a 4850 IceQ 4. It also has stickers telling us that we have the "Turbo" version, that we get an HDMI adapter and an HIS "Multi-purpose screwdriver". The back tell us more about the IceQ 4's cooling design. (Which works very nicely, might I add!) Inside the box, you will find a white cardboard box (like you usually do), which unfolds to what you see above. Although it's neatly packed, and I wouldn't be afraid of the card being damaged during shipping, I would've appreciated a bit more protection for the card. It looks a bit bare. Even an anti-static bag would have done me. You will find (clockwise from top-left):
.Also, I would like to point out the size of the box. It's a nicely sized box, much easier to carry (and more "green") than Asus' 3870 box, as you can see. A Closer Look At The Card A nice (both performance & looks wise) dual-slot cooler covers the card. You can see two heatpipes protruding out the top in this photo. Unfortunately, the only downfall is that it is not copper, it is copper-coloured aluminium. But this helps keep the weight of the card down. You can also see the single 6-pin PCIe power plug needed. Lastly, the card features all solid caps, which is nice. Here, you can see the (huge!) heatsink and where the two heatpipes start and stop. The design of the heatpipes here allows the heat to be moved quickly away from the core and into the "unused" back part of the heatsink. As standard nowadays, we see two DVI ports and a TV out port. There are, however, two notable things in this photo. The first is that the DVI ports are gold-plated. The second, is that the PCI bracket is tinted a glossy charcoal black, which is a very nice touch I haven't seen before. Although these two things won't affect performance, they are a nice touch regardless. You can also see the fins of the heatsink, aligned with the flow of the air from the fan. Here, you can see the four VRMs, with a thermal pad and heatsink stacked on top of it. What you might not see, but what I wanted to point out, is that the VRM heatsink is actually positioned under fins of the fan, which should alleviate the issue of overheating VRMs.

It's always good to see a member here @ OCN doing a product review. Nice work so far, looking forward to seeing the rest.

Just got the same card and like it a lot! Here is my quick OC. I think I can much higher because the temps never go above 60c.
