Default HD 4850 Crossfire PSU

Soon I will be getting a 4850 and I understand that my current PSU will be able to handle the power requirements. However, I am interested in getting a new Crossfire mobo (DFI LP DK P45-T2RS PLUS) and an additional 4850 towards Christmas when prices go down.

Question: Will a 800 Watt PSU be good enough to run my sig rig with a HD4850 Crossfire setup?

I am interested in getting the BFG ES 800 Watt PSU

based on this review:

In addition take a look at a review for the DFI LP DK P45-T2RS PLUS

Take a look at the benchmarks of a 4850 Crossfire setup here

and here

The performance is on par with 4870x2 for a much lower price.

The PSU I have could handle your rig w/ a pair of 4850's. It's also a recommended PSU by ATI for teh 4870X2.

It's only downfall is that it's cables aren't "pretty".

EDIT: Newegg has a great deal on the EA650 right now too. It's regular price is $100. I got mine for $70 shipped and now they're at $65 shipped. The Corsair's are nice, but $65 you can't really beat it right now. Best bang for the buck at this price.

Here's a review from a trusted PSU review site.

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php...Story&reid=110

He gave it a 9, so I'd say it's a good PSU.

Those links are only for crysis. im not sure if driver updates have changed those numbers but in 90% of other games 4870x2 will produce higher FPS. there is no way a 4850 crossfire will match the 4870x2 as it is simply 4870 cross fired onto a single card. if you are interested in the 4850's i believe ATI will be releasing the 4850x2 soon but im not sure on the pricing.

I am looking at Crysis simply because in all other games the 4850/4870 Crossfire is overkill with over 90 fps (1600x1200) with the exception of World of Conflict which I don't play. In addition, the refresh rate for LCD monitors with anything above 1280x1024 is 60 Hertz and it would be pretty difficult to see a major difference at such high fps. Until they come out with mainstream LCD Monitors with those high 120 Hertz refresh rates I think the 4850/4870 Crossfire setups would suffice for any gamer through the next 2 years. Finally I have not heard ANYTHING about the 4850x2 and by the time it does come out 2 4850's will be closer to $200 (currently $270 after MIR) price range, which obviously is much better than the proposed $399.

According to this review:
