There are 12 chips in the VRM section , this is Voltage regulation modules VRM
if you dont cool them you blow your card simple. if they have contact on all 12
then your good if not then do what I recommend in above post.

are the tiny black ones VRM? because i put heatinks on the grey ones that have the green circle around them

The OP DEFINITELY needs to put heatsinks there. Those are his VRMs and they get way hotter than RAM.

You should have a heatsink on everything with a red square on it:

OMG THANK YOU!!!! PLUS REP!

THE PROBLEM NOW IS THE HEATSINKS I BOUGHT WONT STICK TO THE LITTLE FREAKING BLACK CHIPS. The ones that came with the cooler stick great but the others fall right off. Ive cleaned the chips with rubbing alchohal and wiped em off and they still dont stick

omg!!!! i cant install a heatsink on the uppermost small VRM's because that bigger one gets in the way!!!!!!!!

Replace the thermal tape that came with the sinks. It is apparent to me that it has been molested too much and can no longer stick.

please refer to my orig advice on that area , cut the original cooler
and screw that part back in until you get better sinks ,at least youll be able to
use that card safely
