Actually I was wondering about that myself... not that I'm planning on doing CF but I'm still curious.

Just added members and updated OCing averages. Just a few comments for your delight:

While Sapphire holds the first place in the most popular branding (11 users) the second place goes to visiontek (8 users) and Asus (6 users). Those of you who haven't mentioned your card's brand yet and are interested in supporting it for potential buyers, be my guests.

Out of 47 members of this club, 30 of them have informed they successfully practiced OC on them. That's roughly 64% of the users, which isn't too suprising considering we're on OVERCLOCK.net

Also, ZealotKi11er (our resident OCing champion) has issued a challenge to those that can surpass what he has achieved. Is anyone up to the task?

had it at 870 for a day,ati tool ran fine no screenie of it though.temps were quite high,70C from the normal 50C
all was fine until i installed a new driver, and then it started artifacting at stock and had to remove the pencil mod
anyhow at 800 now and the load temps have barely gone higher, will try again someday.
some crysis runs i did before the card went artifacting-

Hey guys figured Id post here , Ive been playing with a visiontek 4850 since august.
I looove this card despite it be undervolted 1.084 even more than most 4850's nothing a flash didnt fix !

Im thinkin they had used the same batch of cores for 4850 and 4870 not lower binned ones , since I can bench @ 775 / 2050 @ 1.158v in bios. Without hardmods active.

I heard this somewhere that the ati drivers get screwed up when you flash the bios.

4850 bios' need a special step or procedure as you flash.

Can someone confirm?

ati drivers don't get screwed up if you modify the bios correctly using RBE.
drivers later than 8.6 or 8.7 used some sort of keys for the voltage and overdrive limits so that the drivers will give you a blank screen if you used a custom bios with all sorts of voltages and overdrive limits.
just modify the original bios using RBE put in higher clocks overdrive signature and the vcore limit to 1.158,which actually gives 1.2V to the gpu and is max and you are good to go beyond 700.
