In fact I think the 4830 is based on the pro core. I dont work for ATI so I dont really know. I just love the work they did with 4 series .

The 4850 is a pro and the 4870 is a xt.Its ati's naming scheme,xx50=pro,xx70=xt.

Nice guys...
I just got cat 8.12, for some reason my BIOS works right now, and drops to .93, and up to 1.2  I've got 740/1100 Crysis and ATiTool stable - never above 60C in Crysis, and haven't broken 70 in ATiTool. I'm so glad I cleaned out my card. Thats close to a 20c difference in Crysis. Wow! ~Error

Sign me up... just bought a 4850 yesterday. Installed it and started overclocking it immediately. Never overclocked a video card before and it took me reading this forum to understand how to properly. So far able to play my games 4 hours last night overclocked and no problems. Will push further tonight.
