I've been wondering.
Recently a bunch of articles have been going around about cpu bottlenecking current gpus. Is there any chance my current athlon x2 is greatly limiting the performance of my 4850 as it is? Should I try overclocking further in order to get a more balanced system? maybe switching to a phenom? I'm also worried about the pci-x slot since it's only 1.1 and I realize it may algo cripple performance.

My fav. also...Has been since before I first seen them in Concert in Toronto 1977 Farewell to Kings tour... I still have that t-shirt packed away.
Not sure why there is no 4870 club floating around here...

Add me -
Sapphire HD4850 with Accelero S1 ![]() Heres my overclock - ![]() I can go up to 720mhz on the core (mem is at its limit) but I don't see the point running another program just to get 20mhz extra. CCC does its job well enough. I also use CCC to underclock the card to 250mhz on the core and 600mhz on the memory when in 2dmode. This should save me some power and makes it idle even cooler.

Well, I'm sure this clubs can help better organize the ATi's thread, since I keep seeing a lot of questions that have already been answered out there.
I've also wondered why there is no club for the 4870, but since I don't have one I don't feel I have the right to start one ![]() Member list updated again BTW
