Don't know if this is still being updated, but I just picked up another VisionTek 4850 for CrossFire.

Just got it today, haven't really benched it yet. 9.5 Catalysts and no troubles at all getting set up. I've tried it in a few games briefly, COD4, Fallout 3 and Crysis and I have definitely noticed much better performance compared to when I was running the single 4850. Cranked up AA without a problem. Will be sticking with this setup for quite a while.

I have a Vantage run saved that I ran when I had 1 card. I'll run Vantage again in the next few days with the CrossFire setup and see the difference. Although I'm pretty sure what to expect. :P

what these cards pull in crysis when two of 'em overclocked to 720mhz core and 1200 memory? My single 4850 can achieve these clock speeds and i'd like to know how would it be if i double my cards.

You could probably expect around a average (on very high) of:
1600x1200 ~ 34 fps
1900x1200 ~ 31 fps
2560x1600 ~ 19 fps

I have just got my 4850 but still haven't had chance to test in games. I'm installing some games to measure difference. Gosh, i'm feeling so bad for this poor PCP&C 500W silencer. i know it is a kickass psu but it feels like even it can't cope with full loaded 4850s 'cuz psu fan spins like crazy. but it has to hold on at least until i buy a new psu next month.

ok here's my shots for ya.just ask if you want any benchies or something.

it's the wisest move ofc but i won't be in such a hurry if i were you since 5000 series will be hell a lot of expensive during this year.

i'm a patient guy, i'll spend this year modestly with my 4850s . but i will definitely consider upgrading hd5000 series after a year or so.

Btw did you guys hear a software called ATI Crossfire Xtension? I increased my FPS rates in most games thanks to it. Basically program lets you choose (or forces) Crossfire method for each game. As you all know ATI Catalyst Control Center doesn't have such option. I tried forcing "Alternate Frame Rendering (AFR)" method for Fallout 3 and believe me FSP increased ~10 compared to default crossfire method. Same thing for Crysis.Normally i get 5-10 FPS @1680X1050,16AF,8XAA but with this "Super Antialising" method now it is ~20 FPS. However i kept getting same FPS even if i decrease AA to 4x which means it is effective only at higher antialising. Download it and try different methods, you'll find the best method for each game...
