That means you have an unstable overclock. Back in the "old days" you would have gotten a BSOD. Now drivers are smart enough to recover from the errors. Use my little guide on the previous page and set your clocks that way. Let us know what happens.

the second one ive been running doesnt get the snowy artifacts like the first but it gets black mesh looking artifacts.
and doesnt seem to want to overclock as high.

Hey, I was just playing Bioshock and Oblivion to test out my new stuff, and with all the settings on high on both at 1280x1024 resolution(highest my monitor goes to unfortunately) my 4830 only got up to 36C it says in gpuz, is that too low too believe and I might have a bad temp sensor or is it just that my low resolution is so easy for this card it doesn't need to work too hard and get hot? Fan speed stuck on 50% btw, and idles at 26C according to GPUz.

Quick question: What is the best method to keep graphite stuck to a resistor on a sapphire 4830(the volt mod to the card). Been told to use electrical pen ink, use nail polish on it.

Need to know so I can finish my 4830 guide up!!

Electrical tape over the resistor.

Dial back your overclock and work back your way up 10-20 mhz at a time using ati tool to test for artifacts and furmark for stability.

Edit: You're getting a higher score cause your card is not stable.
