Some people like their I/O shields including me. It drives me crazy not to have it! Plus he still saved $80 so who cares.

What a rediculous statement to make.

I take pride in my case. If I was using a cardboard box then sure, why get an I/O shield. And as for eBay, not everyone likes to purchase hardware there.

I have differing opinions about the MSI. Could I get a few more opinions please?
Apparently they are already out of the MSI but still more opinions would be helpful.

If I were to oreder an open box MB & it did come with nothing but the motherboard, how would I handle not having the disk? Don't I need it to be able to boot the computer up the 1st time?

Windows has default drivers and will install (you don't "run" the disk until after you first install windows anyway)

You can download any driver 99% of the time from the manufacturer's website (and usually newegg has a link directly to the specific product). Also as previously stated you generally get newer drivers from the site than what is shipped with the mb (such as my p5b deluxe is still on bios 1004 but there are about 5 others out since then)

So just installing Windows would be sufficient to be able to get to the particular website I would need to download the current drivers? Is there any real difference between the 790GX & 790FX other than the 790FX will run crossfire in 16x & the 790GX runs crossfire in 8x? Is there that much difference between the AMD SB 600 & 750?

Open box (from newegg, anyhow) is a great deal. Many times you get most of the periferals. Even if you have a bad item, you can still return it. I have been very happy will all my open box purchases there.

Yes, at absolute worse you may have to go to another pc to download the drivers but generally most NIC are supported in windows
