First Time Build

I see several people with 4670s and there's not much written about how it overclocks. So I put together a screenshot of my HIS IceQ 4670 overclocked. Stock is 750/1000, CCC will go up to 800/1050, a modest overclock at best. I used RivaTuner adjust the clocks and ATiTool to scan for artifacts (ATiTool doesn't seem to work in Vista64)
After about 90 minutes of playing I got to 809/1096. I probably could go higher if I was patient (I just put in some numbers and watched for artifact)... AND--- (if my image shows up below) See who can find the problem in the screenshot - and I'll explain what's really going on! ![]()

Hi.
__________________I've got an Abit 4670EAH with a Zalman (or similar non-stock) Cooler and I clock it at 860MHz core, and 2300MHz mem. That's some wierd settings you've got in CCC, man. ;-) I guess the frequencies below idles to aroun 265MHz core etc when you don't fold proteins? hehe -Chiron

The actual clocks are 809/1096 in CCC (shown at bottom, not in slider), because I used rivatuner I can't adjust using ccc as well.
Stock is fine, but I got essentially no increase in temps (51-54 Load) when overclocked, so I did what everyone would do: bumped it up... What nobody has caught yet (sorry for the poor detail pics) is the voltages...

I have the HIS ICEQ3 4670, mine currently is at Core: 842MHz Memory: 1123MHz. And with the ICEQ3 cooler I get 31°C Idle and 46°C Load.

so 4670 can overclock to 800-850 mhz and with 4850 you can go about 750mnz core??

I'm enjoying this thread, been waiting to get my new card for ages and looks like I'll have to go with the cheap ASUS one, but my 3560 was an Asus and it screamed.
I'm looking forward to seeing what I can squeeze out of this. We need a 4670 competition We can't let all the rich boys with their uber cards have all the fun.
