Default 4850 1GIG vs 4850 512

Is it worth the extra $17 or so to get the 1Gig version? Does it make that much of a difference?

depends on the screen res you wanna play at... for somethin like 1440*900, wont make a diff, but for something higher would definitely be worth it... It is 17$, i would personally do it no matter what res i was playing at IMO

it will do better with AA and stuff like that. it'll also make your fps 5-10 fps better. Is that worth $17? I'd say yes

if its only $17 its worth it for future proofing more games are using more than 512mb now.
but at the current price of a 1GB 4850 a 4870 aint much more.
after shipping that card will be about $170
a 512mb 4870 is $180 shipped

512mb 4870>>>1gb4850>512mb 4850.

1GB > 512MB

You will notice a difference @ insane high resolutions.

I wish I went for the 1GB version, but the 512 was all I could afford.

i've got the 1gb. guru3d did a comparison, it's worth having

fwiw, i've got my iceq4 version up to 1130 stable on the memory, so 1gb still overclocks nice & high.
