Sapphire 4870x2 only single core is getting load
Hi guys,
__________________I just installed my 4870x2 and I ran GPU-Z and ATI tool to stress my new GPU but on GPU-Z only one core is getting stressed and the other one stays at zero percent. Is ther something wrong with my new card or do I need to enable crossfire in CCC? Or maybe I am just reading GPU-Z wrong? THanks guys

This sounds like a familiar problem. It seems that GPU-Z sometimes has trouble reading the 4870x2. You could verify this by using RivaTuner and its hardware monitor. I see that you recently had an Nvidia card. Did you use DriverSweeper or equivalent to clear those drivers before installing the ATI? Also, have you tried any games or benchmarks to see where your performance levels are at?

I just formatted my boot drive and re-installed windows. I will install rivatuner rightnow and I just finished running 3dmark06 and the score was ~16200 3D marks(sounds like pretty low) but I have my cpu running at stock and my ram running at 1333mhz with 9-9-9-24 timings..

So I installed Rivatuner and I am seeing double of every thing but I ran ATI tool and scanned for artifacts and only the GPU0 usage and going to 100% and the GPU1 stays at 0%..what should I do?

I don't use ATI Tool but I'd bet my last five bucks that its artifact scanner is windowed. The x2 will not fire up the second core until you play something 3D and full screen. Try a game.

No problem
 You're learning as you go that the x2 isn't your average video card  EDIT: That will work. Crysis doesn't have the best Crossfire scaling if I remember right but you should still see the second core load.
