Using two different cards in no crossfire?
__________________What I`m thinking is, using my old X700pro in my second PCIe slot to run my 17 inch monitor, while using my 4870 to run my 22". Reason being, I figure that, since I only have the 512mb version of the 4870, my second display, even though it usually just a web page or CCC, that its bringing down my performance. I don`t want to get rid of my second display, so I'm hoping this would work.

First off, you should only bump your threads after 24 hours of inactivity. Just FYI.
I think that would work just fine. I don't think it could hurt anything to try either. You ought to just do it and see what happens.

edit: seems to work. However, in order to move my mouse to both screens, I have to enable my small monitor on the x700 as my primary monitor. If its on the 4870, I can display things on the x700 but cant move my mouse to it. hmm.. back to tweaking around in CCC double edit: got it working. apparently i can make it so my monitors arent in a line on my desk, but also on top of eachother o.0.

MUCH better. I was pulling around 40 Fps on average in WoW now I go no lower then 70. IN L4D i pulled around 50 on average, up to 90 now. Catalyst needs a bit of tweaking as far as my 3D options go, but so far so good!
