Yes but If this happens then in the same way AMD/ATI chipset users may also have trouble using Nvidia cards. Am I thinkg right ???

Try reverting to the 9.1 driver and see if the issue persists.

I think he refered to your CPU being oc'ed or not, but meh

Personaly the only problem I've ever had with the 4850 on my folding rig and the 9.2 Catalysts is when I tried to run Fallout 3 or Oblivion (both use the same 3d engine btw), got some weird gfx glitch on the right edge of the screen. But the core was like oc'ed to 720MHz and wasn't getting enough power

Try uninstalling .Net framework and then reinstall the latest version 3.5 . Maybe this will fix your problem

I see you have 4870 . If so then 720Mhz is your stock speed

have you tried gpu-z ? what it claims ?? If it is true (720Mhz) then run a benchmark and compare the results to a typical 4850.Yours should be higher

Oh yeah it definitely is, but I don't use that rig for gaming anyway, it's just for when a friend comes over to play with me, so they don't have to bring a laptop to play on. I just use it for folding nowadays (when my ISP isn't mean to me that is). So I oc'ed the core (since shaders and core are linked on ATI cards) as much as I could so the GPU2 client would still be stable and give me decent PPD (725MHz gives me weird glitches on the desktop, 730 is just plain crash).

Edit: The 9.2 Catalysts ain't that good tbh, unless you're using CF since it improves performance in some games. I eagerly awaits the 9.3 since they'll have a Win7 version.

before a month I was using 9.1 but nothing changed. Remember that this issue I had was on Vista x86.Now I'm using XP x86 and have no problem. On XP the Catalyst driver has VPU function (it's about instant recovery when it crashes) but this don't exists on Vista.I think that's why XP have no problem
