So I oc'ed the core (since shaders and core are linked on ATI cards) as much as I could so the GPU2 client would still be stable and give me decent PPD (725MHz gives me weird glitches on the desktop, 730 is just plain crash).

Edit: The 9.2 Catalysts ain't that good tbh, unless you're using CF since it improves performance in some games. I eagerly awaits the 9.3 since they'll have a Win7 version.
That reminds me of my old card (Nvidia 7600Gs) which wears the same GPU as 7600GT (G73).The GT version core runs @ 625Mhz but Gs runs @ 400Mhz .The core has the ability to run as GT (625) but a transistor hold the power down making it unable to run over 520Mhz.The same thing happens with 4850 and 4870 (RV770).If you do the pencil trick then your 4850 would easily run @ 725 Mhz as a stock 4870

Yeah been tempted to v-mod it but tbh, since I purchased it like 2 weeks ago I'm more or less thinking to ask for a refund and get some 9800gx2 instead to get more PPD

Nice thought but then you will not be able to fold anymore unless you use the other PC

Not really, it's just a matter of going to the shop, say hello to the guy, show him the paperwork, give him the radeon back and leave with the gx2.
These people are awesome, everything I might want they've got it. They even found me some LN2 under 24h

I thought that Nvidia doesn't provide the ability of folding

They actually are doing way better than ATI at folding. If that wasn't the case I'd never ever have owned an nVidia gfx card.

So you say that the choice of Graphics card depends on folding ???
I haven't heard that before
