Default Best Budget ATI Card

Hey people hows it going,

Just a quick one, or maybe not who knows.

Going to upgrade my graphics card this weekend and want to spend under £100.

I have a NVidia 8400GS at the minute which i am going to get rid of, doesnt over clock well and you cant change the fan speed!!, to be fair it only cost me £30 and can play Fallout 3 on Medium settings fine (to be honest i much prefer fallout 1 and 2 but its a totally different game and thats not the point, lol)

Can you guys with your ultimate ATI experiance advise on which card to get, i want one with much better stock performance than the 8400 and one that overclocks well, ooooohhh and a aftermarket fan to go with it. I know i am pushing it on £100 budget but there is a recession after all.

Anyhelp will be greatly appreciated guys.

Many Thanks the guy who is sick of using Nvidia, dont know why i didnt stick with ATI in first place it just seemed like a good idea at the time.

For a good ATI card go with a 4670 or 4850 if funds permit not sure of the currency exchange.

Check the for sale thread might be something you want at a lower price then retail online price.

I'd go 4850 all the way if there's any offer in the 100 pounds range, either way grab a 4830, which is say 10% slower than the 4850.

Sweet cheers guys, will check all these out, only looked away for a second, at work at the minute trying to ghost a dodgy machine, bored, so can check these out later tonight,

This is probably a stupid question but, just had a look at these cards, do they not have normal VGA connections for monitors? Can you get a converter or am i just being s s s stupid?

4830 or 4850, for me too, both are great cards.

All ATI cards come with a component video breakout cable, composite video, and s-video (component, composite and s-video work on the middle round port), DVI - HDM adapter and VGA adapter. They also come with a Crossfire bridge.
