Cheers guys.
I'll be testing that today.

I didn't come from a 4870X2 but coming from my 4870 CF 512MB (wish I might add I so should ahve just kept ) The 4890 is nice but gives no real increase when compared to 4870CF, except in non CF friendly games such as Crysis WH.

But for the most part at the same time I have noticed my lowest fps not quite as low. On avg. about a 3fps bump.

If you have a 4870X2 or any 4870CF setup you better get 2 4890's or your not going to be all that enthralled by them.

Got my second one coming next week.

Soon I will be a part of this list. Need someone to buy this 4870 first!

I can't wait to start seeing the OC's and benchmark scores people get on these.

Currently I have 2 Hd4850s and am pretty satisfied, but Im looking to push my system to the extreme component wise

I saw these 4890s coming out and I didnt think much of it because I was expecting ATI to release a 5000 series soon (Any news on that?)

I was reading this thread and it really gave me the itch to get a pair of these in my i7 build

Question is how much improvement would i see? Should I wait for the 5000 series, or is that a while off?

With my DUAL 4870x2's my current top score IN 3dmark 06 at 4.4ghz is 28362
at 4.4ghz with dual 4890's I hit 28014 (so Far)
as for performance gain over the 5000 I can't comment on that because I have not seen any specs.
IMO the are a rockin card.

I may pick up another 2 of these puppies. I'm feeling some 5ghz i7 love in 06 and 05! I'm even contemplating selling a 4870x2. These are that bad arse!
