Hey, you Asus people, can you run your card at 1.4 volts with furmark for more then like 10 seconds?

Every time I adjust the core voltage to above 1.35 it won't run FurMark for more then 10 sec. then all just locks up. Or does anyone actually test their 4890 on furmark?

I can run anything at 1000Mhz core but furmark so I'm guessing while it appears to be stable it isn't.

So yea, since I have a XFX flashed to an Asus card I need some of your all Asus advice here.

And I guess you want this Robilar http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/5hhpa/ But I actually have an XFX HD4890, not Asus.

I think imo, XFX binned aggressively for their 4890's since they have the regular, XT, and XXX editions. Anyone else think they may have done this?

Just a thought also, it looks like there might be a resistor missing but I see traces on the pcb, curious if we could solder an 8-pin connector on the board for added voltage stability. Anyone else look at that?

1. Yes you can CFX in Vista but unless you have 4870X2's I think 3 is the max sigle card units. I think this has more to do with teh design of MB's the Vista though. Not 100% sure but I know 3 is all I could ever get working. Top card and second cards bridge will go on the bridge connectors closest to the back of the case with JP1(it's on the underside of the bridge on each side) on the card on top and JP2 on the card in the middle. For the 3rd card it's bridge will be on the one not connected to card 1, The JP1 will connect to card 2 and JP2 connect to card 3. Hope that makes a bit of sense

2. You don't have to run the bridges the way NV does, Just one per a card.

3. VisionTek, XFX, Asus, Sapphire. Those are the brands I always lean towards for ATi, just recently XFX though.

1. Yes you can, you just connect 1 connector from Card A to B, and a connector from card B to C.

2. Yes, works just fine, I have been running it for 2 years now.

3. I would purchase PowerColor, VisionTek, XFX, Sapphire or HIS.

My brand preferences, but VisionTek has a lifetime warranty, along with XFX, Sapphire and PowerColor are usually cheaper though.
And HIS has one of the best coolers on its IceQ cards.
