What about Gigabytes EP45-UD3P? If I put cards into crossfire does that mean both slots will run at 8x?

I though 8x/8x crossfire only impacted 4870x2s but now it somehow hits 4850s as well? Seriosly whats going on, doing some quick google-fu

Two cards on the UD3P makes them both 8x8x. Depending on the resolution, there could be a performance hit in some games. The tweaktown article pointed that out as well.

Yes but legionhardware only showed 1 fps here. I'm looking around for more articles but so far its tt vs legion/ tr.

Tomshardware didnt get such ridiculous performance deltas either with x48 vs p45.

for what its worth, I've run a pair of 4870's on my UD3P for gaming without any noticeable differences from my X2.

I seriously doubt you would see an issue in any application or game.

Alright, put me on the list because I'm going to have one of these in my hands in a week and a half to add to my rig...an ASUS EAH4890 with the voltage tweaker.

Well all the numbers from Toms seem to point to a loss of 8-9% in fps/performance when crossfiring with pcie 2.0 x8.

But all these tests were done on early p45s, I wonder if any of the newer ones such as UD3P fare any better.
