BTW, I take back all the back things I said about Crysis. Now that I can play it (it's been sitting on my shelf for a year because my old PC couldn't handle it), it is a very nice game.
I've got the EAH4890 from ASUS and I see temps above 65C when I'm doing Furmark for stability or benchmarking. I have the fan programmed using the ASUS SmartDoctor utility and they keep temps below 55C at idle, plus I have a 120x25mm fan directing cold air from the bottom of my case toward my card .

Sorry, can't give you any actual game numbers. I don't play many, and the only one I do occasionally play that can even kind of benefit from these cards is GRID.
Great scores Patch, Thanks. Any game you have would be helpful. Or download a demo bench would be nice: furmark, crysis, devil may cry 4, etc. I just can't tell a lot from 3dmark appz. A 3dmark vantage P and or H, would be good as well, a better tell of graphics power. 3dmark2006 is more about the cpu power.

aha, oh man you should have seen the cry the nvidiots had in the thread before it got cleaned up.

particularly after i stated my hatred for nvidia and gave a brief justification (gimping dx10, rebrands, paying off devs to code for them, paying off gts 250 reviews/binning the reviewed cards, etc) the fanboys came out on the attack. firstly it was my grammar, then it was calling me a fanboy (because you know, justified hatred of one company means illogical love of ATI), then it was telling me off for (and i'm not kidding) FIXING the grammar in my sig, and finally it was believed i should be personally insulted.

one poster had some actual rebutting points as to why i shouldn't hate nvidia. ONE. the cryoff was... epic. having said that, there was no response to the points i raised - like an explanation of how they can be ignored.

i basically said to like nvidia you either have to be galactically ignorant, or completely devoid of any ethical conscience. not a personal insult to anyone, just my opinion. i even justified it. they didn't like it, but they didn't have anything to say in rebuttal either, just personal attacks, or barely relevant points about me not using capital letters at the start of every sentence/title. (the horror)

just remember guys, what some random over the internet thinks of you is DEFINITELY worth getting worked up about. are you trying to justify your nvidia love to me or yourselves ? because i think it's the latter, and you know i'm right even if you won't admit it.

the cherry on the cake was someone trying to say that the quote in my sig doesn't look like it was typed by a baboon with dementia, and that i'm just being a tool trying to embarrass mocha. they're half right, but its not me that embarrassed him.

Finally got 1Ghz to pass 3DMark06 and Vantage! I got a bit eager with the voltage, and threw it on 1.41 and the core to 1Ghz, and it passes 06 and Vantage fine with no artifacts (that I saw, at least).

I have yet to run ATITool or OCCT to check for artifacts, and Furmark makes my VRMs so hot that my PC actually reboots when I use more than ~1.36V on vGPU.

generally just one artifact is enough to crash 3dmark06, so if you can run loops for an hour or so with aa/af on i'd call it stable.

Really? I'll give it a shot once I figure out how to loop it

I have mine running at 1020/1190 100% of the time for benching I put it on 1040/1205, but after that I have to crank the fan up and it gets annoying. This is on stock volts, BTW. I wonder if it's because of the Toxic cooler or because I just got a good one, but I'm really happy with mine.

I'd say that your temps have an impact on the overclockability. It's very possible that you have a good chip as well, but I'm just sayin' Maybe Sapphire bumped the stock volts a bit, since they have such a nice cooler?

On an unrelated note, does anybody know what the "1.2V" voltage in GPUTool is? It shows VDDC, and another labeled "???" which runs at 1.2V.

yeah the amd gpu's, like their cpu cousins, rather cold over volts.
