What version of CCC are you using? I'm on 9.6.

I wonder if Xfire, trifire or quadfire affect the ceilings?

I bought an XFX HD 4890 Black edition, meaning standard overclocked.
The GPU core should be standard on 1000 Mhz.

But when Idle it's only 240 Mhz.

When I benchmark this card I notice that it's worse then my 7900 GTO
What do I do wrong?

it downclocks when you aren't using it to save power

i don't know why your 7900 GTO out performs it though

I already reapplied the thermal paste and it dropped it like 1c. Also the heat isn't too much of an issue but that I can't OC at all. I tried to OC it to only 875/990 and my games would crash after like 15 minutes. I just set it back to stock so I wouldn't have to hassle with it.

that "idle" clock speed is your 2D clock speed, it automatically goes up when running 3D applications.

for actual performance to be worse than a 7900, you havnt got the drivers installed correctly or something.
