Please post your benches and advise me on mine as...

I've had a few teething problems with my HD4870x2 but I think I am slowly getting there. However, after going through more than 70 pages (still going through the rest ) of the HD4870 thread I have noticed that my benches a slower than many other owners (even Dual Core...?).

Here are my current benches with the card @ stock and CPU @ 3.4Ghz.

Please comment, as I personally think somehow my card isn't performing as well as some of you guys with same card @ stock?

3D Mark - Had 0-2fps in CPU test same as when I was on a single CPU back in the day?

Texture Filter Quality: Highest
View Distance: 28
Detail Distance: 100
Definition: On
Vsync: On

Definitely a problem with GTA, but is this with all us 4870x2 users perhaps? This bench uses the MP engine but in SP I am constantly in <25fps in city areas, my pervious card which didn't have as much horsepower delivered a solid 25-35 (even 40 at at times).

The CPU test is just that a CPY test and has nothing to do with your GPU.
and back in the day you had a single core 2.5ghz proc and you would score close to that.

here is my latest score with my cpu clocked at 4.4ghz. my score is 6827.

and the score in 3dmark 06 is tied very tight to your CPU score.
OC your CPU a bit and you will see a jump in your score.

3DMark 06 cpu score is a little low......i get 5000+ @ 3.6GHz but i have a Q6600 which is weaker than the Q9550.....Vantage cpu score is low too....i hit 14000+.....but the Crysis score is very good......26FPS+ @ 1920 x 1080 with 8XAA is awesome

So in theory if I had my CPU @ 4.4Ghz I should have a score somewhere around 28K?

Cheers man, had a feeling my CPU score was a little low. Could I have possibly have OC'd my CPU in a way that wasn't quite right, or is speed simply speed? Also, my mem timings are quite loose, would that make a difference?

You need to run 3 loops of the Crysis bench.
I was getting closer to 40fps with the same settings, my old X2.

I have hit 28k with dual 4870 dark knights 1gb cards at 3.9 ghz
so .. yes I think if you were to OC your CPU you would see an increase.

and IMO your CPU is holding back your GPU right now.

You say you hit 40fps @ my settings. Can I ask what you had your CPU clocked at, the drivers you were using and if the GPU was @ stock clocks?

Cheers, do you have a log you did of benches/OC's you did on the 4870 as I can't seem to find it.

Also, did you use Rivatuner as CCC only does 800 max.
