Default 2x 4830's or 2x 4870's?

So, I've got some spare cash floating around, and I'm considering upgrading my PC again. I just don't know which route to take.

A
Sell off my 4870 and buy two 4830's. I've seen some of the benchies, and 4830's in crossfire either equal a single 4870, or in some cases, are much better. Also, this option I know my PSU should be able to handle (right?).

B
Buy another 4870. I'm leaning away from this though because I don't think my PSU could adequately handle running a pair of these in crossfire, which, in-turn, would require me to purchase a new PSU, spending even more money.

So, that's my dilemma. I'm trying to figure out the most cost-effective way to upgrade, while also getting the best performance for my money.

There's no reason to buy 2 lesser cards.

why buy 2 lesser cards, i would wait until you need more horsepower and then pick up another 4870.

why would you buy two lesser cards that are equal to or slightly greater than what you have? I think that your PSU could handle two 4870's, or maybe a 4870 and a 4850?

I think your psu should handle it well... I'm getting two 4890's and members here are telling me that I should be okay.

I was looking at benches, and in some cases, the 4830's got like 20-30 frames more. COD4 with 2 4830's averages 108FPS at my resolution, whereas my 4870 averages 76. There are other games with results like this as well.

As for a 4870 and a 4850, what would the performance on that be like? Wouldn't the 4850 limit the performance of the 4870?

Don't get two lesser cards if anything keep the 4870 until you need to upgrade. Otherwise get this 4870. Open box rocks on Newegg!
