Thanks for all the information guys. Hmm well i'm probs gonna try and sell my toxic for about £100. Then i'll have enough for one 4890. Probs get em one at a time. Do you think i could get that much for my toxic?

it can be in crossfire with anyother 4000 series card but not 3000 series

considering that 2 3870 X2s in crossfire are the same as 1 4890, I would just get the 4890 and not worry about crossfire and just go with the single card.

You should keep in mind that while a 4870 will crossfire with, say, a 4830, the performance gain beyond two 4830s is very minimal.
